I was initially confused between the descaler & cleaner.Cleaner:It cleans the internal parts, drum and the outlets removing dirt, bacteria, smell, bacteria, fungi, detergent deposits and other residues.Its used at 90°C temperature and I've a dedicated function on my Bosch. You may also use it at the highest temperature with longest run cycle in other case.-> Use full packet at onceDescaler:As the name suggests, descaler removes the salt/scales that deposit in the interiors and parts of the washing machine with time.It especially helps where the water is hard or has very high TDS.Descaler must be used at 60°C with longest cycle.-> Use full packet at onceConclusion:If you use your machine daily, cleaner & descaler must be used at every 3 months.I use my machine 2-3 times a week so I clean & descale it every 90 -100 washes or 6 months, that too alternatively.i.e. at 3rd month I use cleaner, 3 months after cleaner I use descaler. ? You can keep a record when u last used it by writing a date on the cleaner and ordering accordingly. The handbook advised two hot cotton washes at 90 centigrade - no better. We improvised with baking soda and vinegar - maybe a slight improvement. Saw this product ( not mentioned in our handbook). The product arrived promptly ( delivery included in the price) - one application with a 90 centigrade wash program (no clothes) and problem solved.To clean my Bosch washing machine. Had a disaster a few weeks back with bed linen streaked with yellow lime scale, and drain hose discharging into main drainage below utility room sink badly smelling and bubbling up into sink. Not least as the shipper is called "QUAILITAS LIMITED".In general, I have no issue with Bosch, but with packaging like this, I do wonder whether the 00311925 Genuine Original Washing Machine Cleaner is as "genuine" as advertised?Only one way to find out...Easy to use and washing machine smells clean. Have to use the cotton wash to get the temperature to the 95 degrees required
