This thing feels like a real grown up espresso maker at a sub $100 price point. I’ve been using it daily since it arrived and am really impressed. It is both fast and quiet, brewing a single shot in under 30 seconds with the pump not making much noise, and it only takes about a minute to preheat. This thing is built well. The controls (functionality) are simple and intuitive, with buttons for single, double, and foam, plus a power switch and steam control knob on the side. The water tank holds enough for quite a few drinks. Make sure to power it off when you’re done using it or it will stay in preheat mode.There are a few drawbacks. The first one is that occasionally when brewing a double shot, the timer will start at zero and count up and I’ll have to shut it off manually at the right time to keep it from overflowing. This has only happened twice, and isn’t an issue as long as I’m paying attention. Second, the process from going from steaming back to brewing is explained on a small sticker on the side of the machine, and if you don’t see it you might be confused by the error message. All you have to do is vent the steam after returning to brew mode until the error message goes away. Finally, this machine does not have a built in grinder, but how much convenience does one actually need? Very minor nitpicks for something that works this well at such a low price, and if you really want coffee on demand, nothing beats a gallon of homemade cold brew in the fridge.If you like high end espresso drinks at home but don’t want to spend hundreds on a name brand or settle for a hybrid or pod based machine that makes inferior espresso, take a good look at this one right here.
