I hope there will be more books written like this one! It is perfect for upper elementary, middle schoolers, and high schoolers interested in the topic. It has challenged my second grader to want to read something a bit above his reading level and has helped improve his reading skills. I have been listening to him read it out loud and have been discussing it with him. We have both enjoyed and learned from this book. The book is laid out following a historical timeline with related topics inserted. Of course the book covers red tractor history, as well as other farm equipment history, but also discusses relevant world history topics, economic topics, the basics behind how these machines work and the technology that evolved to improve them. The illustrations, photos, graphs, and charts help the reader, especially younger ones, stay engaged and interested. The authors did an excellent job covering a huge swath of material in a way that youth could digest. I would highly recommend it to students interested in machinery, agriculture, and/or history!
