Product Description

Product description Excellent condition & playability Amazon.com Everything super-producer Dr. Dre touches turns into the platinum that Juvenile rocks in his grill; white gold, at minimum. Yet, interestingly, Man vs. Machine is an example of what happens when rap's finest talents go superstar collabo-hunting: the magic remains just where it started--on paper. Do Eminem's verbal jabs at Jermaine Dupri on "My Name" add anything to the Xzibit mix? Nope. And is that Dr. Dre producing the beats of a mere mortal on the Nate Dogg-assisted "Multiply"? Absolutely. Conceptually, "Release Date," a provocative first-person look at what goes through a prison inmate's mind just before being discharged, showcases what you'd come to expect from an Xzibit track: rugged beats, even nastier rhymes. However, the track's production by the much-fĂȘted Rockwilder is an afterthought. So clearly, when the X-man sticks to his growling flows over purist beats by DJ Premier ("What a Mess"), or with the similarly gritty M.O.P. ("BK to LA"), the results are splendid. But with Dre and company on board, X seems to lose some of his focus and organic luster. Put in perspective, Xzibit's fourth release is arguably better than most of the West Coast pabulum out this year. However, considering all the star power assembled, this one falls short of expectations. --Dalton Higgins

I love this album with all my heart. Xzibit is an excellent rapper, his beats are great, his guest stars are great and I like what he sings about at times. This is how I feel about the songs.1. Release Date 5/5 The beat is nice and the song has very fascinating lyrics about what goes through a prisoner's mind right before being released.2. Symphony In X Major 5/5 Very creative. The beat is a sample of Bach's Brandenburg Concerto and is fun and bouncy and the rapping is well done and the lyrics are interesting. The beat also gives it a very playful feel.3. Multiply 5/5 Oh My this is my favorite track on the album. It has one of the best beats on the album, great rapping from Xzibit, a well sung chours from Nate Dogg and more interesting lyics.4. Break Yourself 4/5 A good track with pretty good rapping and beat. not quite as good as a lot of the other songs though.5. Heart Of Man 5/5 Another favorite song. This has a very playful beat, cool backup singers for the chours, His usual great rapping and a great message.6. Harder 4/5 Another track that is pretty good but not one of my favorites.7. Losin Your Mind 5/5 great track. this one features Snoop Dogg and he is wicked as well.8. BK to LA 5/5 Love this. This one also features M.O.P and they do a good job too. once again the beat and rapping are hot and the chours is great too.9. My Name 5/5 this is my 2nd favorite track on the album. The beat is fierce and so is the rapping. Not only Is Xzibit on here but Eminem and Nate Dogg are on here as well. the lyrics are great again and Nate Dogg does great singing the chours and Eminem and Xzibit both do good at rapping.10. The Gambler 4.5/5 This track is a gem once again. the rapping and beat are good as usual.11. Missin U 5/5 This is a sweet song honoring his late mother. The beat is superior again and the chours is singsong. These things all result in another excellent track.12. Right On. 4.5/5 this track is cool once again. The flow is kind of fun and the beat's exotic.13. Enemies. 5/5 An excellent hardcore track. This one is expressing his hatred for his enemies. fantastic beat and rapping and a great furious chours. Now I have a special edition of this with an extra 3 song CD which is great too. Now I will rate the three songs on that bonus CD.1. My Life, My world. 5/5 My favorite song on this 3 song bonus CD. The beat is wicked, his rapping is great, the lyrics are interesting and the chours is sung by great female backup singers.2. What A mess 4.5/5 another great track. It is great for just the usual reasons.3. Hit U where It Hurts 4.5/5 another great track just for the normal reasons again.
